The PRTP Charity Beach Fishing Open 2008

Now in its second year, this is still a relatively new event to the Paddle Round the Pier Beach Festival. It's a fantastic shore fishing competition open to absolutely everyone. From groms to grannies.

ENTRANCE FEE:     £10 which includes your first raffle ticket and entry to the east arm.

Parking is free at the multi storey at the marina.


The prize is a magnificent hand crafted silver trophy worth £2000, which will be presented on Sunday 6th July by the Paddle team at the huge Paddle Village on Hove Lawns.  You keep the trophy for a year, then your name gets placed on it ready for the next competition in 2008.

What makes this fishing open different from all the others? We want the anglers to get sponsored. Simply raise some sponsorship money - every £5 raised & handed in at registration gets a prize raffle ticket, £10 = 2 tickets etc, the more you raise the better your chances! With literally hundreds of pounds worth of prizes available. From tackle, rods, reels, professional rigs, fishing tackle vouchers, clothing and the amazing top prize of a brand new Perception Fishing Kayak!!! - Everybody stands to be a winner. The more sponsorship you raise, the better your chances of winning that amazing Perception Fishing Kayak. Download a sponsorship form and get dangling.

The raffle will be held at 1745 after everyone has registered, handed in sponsorship money and received their raffle tickets. You will walk away with your prizes on the Saturday before the competition starts. So if you win a new beach caster, you will be able to fish the competition with it!!

The only exception is if you win the competition trophy or the Perception Kayak. If this is the case then you will have to come back to Sunday's event by midday to be presented with your prize by the paddle team and have a drink with us at the bar! This also allows you to arrange a way of taking your prize home safely! Good luck!!
