  • Join us for another spectacular opening event in Preston Park on June 27.

  • Come and watch Team Extreme perform spectacular demonstrations and join in on public coaching sessions on their ‘spine ramp’.

  • Grab a partner and help us beat a national record where young and old come together in TAKEPART Jive ‘09 a giant jive event in Preston Park , (no experience needed!)

  • Try out the Climbing Wall, the Ice-skating or get your roller skates on and have a go at roller hockey or just skate to music.

  • 200 Free Taster Sessions in over 30 different activities and sports.

  • There’s also a Community Dance Stage, a Martial Arts Area, a Children’s Play area

  • Market Place with food, drink and information about clubs and associations in the city.

    • New this year! Education Zone - A one-stop shop for information about sport and leisure courses, training and volunteering opportunities in Brighton & Hove and Sussex.

  • On the 4 & 5 July the Festival moves to the Seafront to join with Paddle Round the Pier on Hove Lawns, the Barefoot Open UK Footvolley Championships at NIVEA SUN Yellowave as well as a Skate Jam event at Hove Lagoon. Between 11am - 1pm on 4 July, skateboarders can TAKEPART in FREE Skate Jam competitions for 7-11 & 12-16 year olds. There will be an Under 16 BMX competition too.   • From 11am – 5pm on the 4 July, get involved in the TAKEPART Jouney On Seafront Challenge. Whether you are walking, cycling or skating along the Prom, make sure you get your TAKEPART stamp at one of the 3 challenge points to be entered into the FREE prize draw.

    • On Saturday 11 July, TAKEPART Local showcases activities that take place in some of the Cities local communities. The areas for 2009 are Hove Park, Portslade Sports Centre, Woodingdean - Longhill Super Saturday and East Brighton Park.
