The Gathering at Paddle Round The Pier is the name given for a collection of watersport enthusiasts coming together to travel a 10k downwind distance (with the wind behind them). The group is expected to contain Stand Up Paddle boarders, Outrigger Canoes, Ocean Skis, Prone Paddle Boards, Kiters and windsurfers.

They will set off at 12noon (Lowtide) from Lancing beach and head directly east towards Hove and the Paddle Village. The field is expected to land no later than 14:00 at the Paddle Village.

By the very nature and cost of the equipment required by each discipline, The Gathering is not expected to appeal to anyone other than a proficient individual or group, already skilled in their particular chosen sport. It is aimed at groups of friends supporting each other who already know their own groups limitations and support each other. The Gathering is not a race, more a supported experience.
