Paddle Round The Pier 2020 Cancelled Due to Covid-19
STATEMENT FROM PADDLE ROUND THE PIER CHARITY & BOARD OF TRUSTEES – 6TH APRIL 2020
It is with a heavy heart that Paddle Round The Pier Charity & its Board of Trustees have made the sad and difficult decision to cancel this year’s Paddle Round The Pier event which was due to take place on 4th and 5th July 2020.
The decision to cancel has not been taken lightly. After carefully monitoring the rapidly evolving Covid-19 pandemic and evaluating the ongoing risks and uncertainty, as well as the additional pressure any large event puts on the emergency services, we feel it is the right decision to make.
Paddle Round The Pier Charity is working with groups to transfer their grants into 2021 due to many beneficiaries being unable to carry out their normal activities. The Charity will continue to work on next year’s Paddle Round The Pier event which will be its 25th anniversary year with the intention of making it the biggest and best yet!! Subject to permissions being granted, the 2021 event will take place on 3rd and 4th July 2021.
We are devastated to have had to make this decision and as a small team we’d like to thank everyone that has been volunteering their time to plan the event. We would also like to thank our local Brighton & Hove Community who always come out in their thousands over the event weekend to support us and donate generously.
A final huge thank you to everyone working on the front line; with the Paddle Team sending big ‘Aloha’ vibes to you all.
See you all at Paddle Round The Pier 3rd and 4th July 2021.
With best wishes,
Paddle Round The Pier Trustees & Crew
